Booking Rides
Open the app, tap 'Carpool', enter your pickup and drop-off locations, choose a time, and confirm. You'll be matched with a verified driver in seconds.
Yes! You can book rides up to 7 days ahead. Simply select your preferred date and time when booking.
We'll immediately find you another driver. If no replacement is available, you'll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
All SomoExpress drivers go through background checks, licence verification, vehicle inspection, and a safety induction before they can accept trips.
Delivery
Within Accra, Kumasi, and Tema — average delivery is 45–90 minutes. Exact timing depends on distance, traffic, and item type.
Documents, parcels, food, clothing, and most consumer goods. Hazardous materials, illegal items, and live animals are not accepted.
Yes. All deliveries include basic coverage. For high-value items, we recommend adding Enhanced Protection at checkout.
Absolutely. Once your courier picks up your item, you see live GPS tracking in the app and receive SMS updates at every stage.
Payments
MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, debit/credit cards (Visa & Mastercard), and cash on delivery for select services.
Never. The price shown before you confirm is the final price. No surge pricing surprises.
Refunds for cancelled or failed trips are processed within 1–3 business days back to your original payment method.
Yes — our Business Plan includes monthly consolidated invoicing, a spend dashboard, and VAT-compliant receipts.
Driver & Partner Onboarding
Visit /careers or tap 'Become a Driver' in the app. Submit your documents, complete the safety induction, and you could be driving within 48 hours.
Most applications are reviewed within 24–48 hours. Background checks may take up to 3 business days.
Drivers receive weekly payouts every Monday directly to their registered mobile money account. Early payout is available twice per month.
Yes. SomoExpress doesn't require exclusivity. You can drive with us alongside other platforms.
Safety
Every ride is GPS-tracked and logged. Drivers are background-checked. You can share your live trip with a trusted contact in real time.
The app has an SOS button that immediately alerts our 24/7 safety team and shares your live location with emergency contacts.
Tap 'Help' on any completed trip to report. Our support team responds within 2 hours during business hours.

Making Payments
